Tyler Reeb

Dr. Tyler Reeb serves as a board member of the California Transit Training Consortium (CTTC) and is the Interim Executive Director of the Center for International Trade and Transportation (CITT) at California State University, Long Beach. A recognized leader in workforce development, transportation research, and industry-academic collaboration, Dr. Reeb brings deep expertise in talent pipeline development and strategic workforce planning to CTTC’s mission.

With a strong commitment to advancing workforce solutions for the transit and transportation industries, Dr. Reeb has played an integral role in national conversations on labor market shifts and training needs. In 2025, he will co-chair the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Workforce Summit, an event designed to address the evolving nature of work and workforce development in transportation. His leadership in this initiative reflects his dedication to creating sustainable, future-ready career pathways for transit professionals.

Dr. Reeb has been an active participant in TRB’s research initiatives, including his contributions to The Future of the Transportation Workforce Development Life Cycle Workshop at TRB’s annual conference. His work at CITT has led to the piloting of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Data Science talent pipelines, which have successfully connected students with industry internships and job opportunities. His efforts have bridged academia and industry, ensuring that transit agencies benefit from emerging workforce trends and best practices.

Beyond his work in workforce development, Dr. Reeb has also been instrumental in facilitating discussions on freight, intermodal logistics, and media relations, including moderating a TRB panel on Freight & The Media featuring experts from the Journal of Commerce, the Tennessee Department of Transportation, and Transport Topics. His advocacy for accurate and informed reporting on supply chain issues underscores his belief in the critical intersection of research, policy, and public discourse.

As a CTTC board member, Dr. Reeb supports the consortium’s goal of enhancing training programs and professional development opportunities for transit professionals across California. His leadership in research-driven workforce innovation strengthens CTTC’s commitment to equipping transit agencies with skilled, knowledgeable professionals prepared to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving industry.
