Advancing Workforce Development

As of the start of FY25, the California Transit Training Consortium (CTTC) is proud to include 42 public transportation agencies, nine educational institutions, and five private industry partners, all recognized leaders in advanced transportation technology. These partnerships enable CTTC to design, develop, and deliver cost-effective technical training programs that improve workforce capabilities across the transit sector. By increasing training efficiency, minimizing redundancy, and leveraging a state-of-the-art learning model, CTTC strengthens the transit workforce and enhances operational effectiveness.

Bus Operating Sub-Committee

With the adoption of the Innovative Clean Transit (ICT) regulation in December 2018, requiring all California public transit agencies to transition to 100% zero-emission bus (ZEB) fleets by 2029, CTTC recognized the urgent need to expand its support statewide. To facilitate this transition, CTTC has adopted a regional membership model, drawing inspiration from the successful LA Bus Operating Sub-Committee (BOS) framework. Under LA Metro's authority, the BOS approved a three-year funding agreement with CTTC, ensuring comprehensive training support for its 19 operating public transit agencies. This agreement covers professional and administrative services, an annual needs assessment, course registration software, and a baseline number of courses delivered within LA County. As a result, all BOS members automatically became members of California Transit Training Consortium (CTTC).
