Course Description:

Electrical 4 is designed to give technicians operational knowledge of the DINEX  multiplex system. The course covers: G4/G5 operation, ladder logic, software use,  programming, and system diagnosis. This course features lab activities that  demonstrate, hands-on, how to perform diagnostics and repairs of IO systems on an  actual transit bus using software, the dashboard, and printed documentation.

Course Duration

2-Day Instructor-Led Course

Course Learning Objectives

  • Describe the purpose and key features of the DINEX G4/G5 systems
  • Recognize and define key DINEX terminology used in maintenance and  diagnostics
  • Interpret basic ladder logic diagrams related to the DINEX system
  • Apply a step-by-step troubleshooting process to diagnose common DINEX  issues
  • Describe the software tools used for testing and programming DINEX systems
  • List common failures within the DINEX system

Course Benefits

Upon completion, technicians will have a practical understanding of the DINEX multiplex  system and the confidence to diagnose and repair IO systems on transit buses. They  will be able to interpret ladder logic, apply structured troubleshooting processes, and  effectively use DINEX software tools for testing and programming — reducing  diagnostic time and improving first-time fix rates. Familiarity with common system  failures and key DINEX terminology will further enable technicians to work more  efficiently alongside documentation, dashboards, and software in real-world  maintenance environments.
