Remembering the Legacy of a Compassionate Leader and a Passionate Transit Professional, Kevin O'Brien, Whose Impact Will Continue Through a Scholarship in His Honor

LONG BEACH, CA, MAY 4, 2023— The California Transit Training Consortium (CTTC) mourns the sudden and tragic loss of Kevin O'Brien, a cherished colleague and friend who worked at Complete Coach Works (CCW), a valued member and sponsoring partner of the CTTC. On April 26, 2023, Kevin was involved in an automobile collision in San Bernardino County that claimed his life at the age of 65. The details of the accident are unknown, and authorities are investigating the incident.
Kevin was a spirited individual, passionately pursuing his interests in the transit industry. He dedicated a decade to the industry before joining CCW in Riverside, California. Over the past 22 years, Kevin served as the General Sales Manager, supervising a diverse range of projects, including mid-life rehabilitation, collision repair, and full remanufacturing.
With over 32 years in the transportation industry, Kevin earned the respect of his peers and colleagues. His unwavering commitment to excellence and innate problem-solving skills made him an inspiring leader. He consistently motivated his team to strive for the highest standards and never settle for mediocrity.

Kevin's warm personality and caring nature extended beyond his professional accomplishments. As a genuine friend, he was always ready to lend a listening ear or helping hand. His exceptional ability to forge meaningful connections on a personal level and uplift the spirits of those around him left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.

The transportation industry and the community have suffered a tremendous loss with Kevin's passing. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the positive impact he made on those around him. Kevin is survived by his loving children, siblings, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with them during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Kevin. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will always be cherished in our hearts.
