Course Description
Prepare to respond effectively to electric shock emergencies with the Contact Release self-paced online course, tailored for personnel working on or around Zero-Emission Buses (ZEBs) and Electric Vehicle Support Equipment (EVSE). This training is designed for anyone potentially exposed to high-voltage circuits, equipping them with lifesaving skills to perform Contact Release on an electric shock victim.
Whether you are directly involved in electrical tasks or not, understanding and executing proper rescue techniques can dramatically improve outcomes in emergency situations. This course meets industry compliance standards and empowers you with the confidence to act decisively in life-threatening situations. You will learn the necessary steps and recommended practices to accomplish a quick, safe, and efficient response to an electric shock incident. Number of Hours/Days:
- 1.5 hours online over a 3-week period
In this course, participants will:
- Clearly define the purpose and importance of Contact Release in high-voltage environments
- Identify the primary goals of a successful rescue of a person who cannot self-release from an electrical source
- Describe the characteristics and conditions of a person who requires a rescue
- List alternative items that can be used to perform a Contact Release if a rescue hook is unavailable
- Memorize and recall the three critical steps involved in performing a successful rescue
